Wynken is one of the three dream children who "sailed off in a wooden shoe" in the 1938 Silly Symphony short Wynken, Blynken and Nod.

Role in the short

Wynken and the other children sail in their shoe-boat to fish; they stall briefly on a cloud, then have various troubles with their fishing lines. A star hooks two candy cane-baited lines together. A comet comes through; they catch it in a net, and it tows them wildly until they land in another cloud. They are tossed by storms, eventually breaking their mast and sending them back to earth, and their bed, where we see that they are really one young boy sleeping, who dreams that he is all three.

  • Wyken's name is a different spelling of "winking", which is the first stage of tiredness.
