Richard William 'Wil' Wheaton III ( born July 29, 1972 in Burbank, California) is an American actor, blogger, and writer, known for his portrayals of Wesley Crusher on the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation, Gordie Lachance in the 1986 film Stand By Me, Joey Trotta in Toy Soldiers, his voice role as Martin Brisby in the animated film The Secret of N.I.M.H., and for his recurring role as a fictionalized version of himself on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory. For Disney, he played Bennett Hoenicker in Flubber and voiced Skurg in the animated Jetix series Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!. He has also provided the voice of Commander S'leet in Miles from Tomorrowland and played Ehrich Weiss / Young Harry Houdini in Young Harry Houdini.
