Vitani

Vitani is the paternal twin sister of Kovu and younger sister of Nuka. Her father is not mentioned in the film, but it is presumable that she and Kovu are of (or almost) the same age, given that she is first seen challenging him to a playful tussle when Zira brings her wandering son home. She is more feisty and authoritive than both her brothers and seen to just about tolerate Nuka's goofy behaviour.

She carries out her mother's orders down to the word and it is because she is more brave than her brother that they were able to succeed in ruining Kiara's first hunt. She is later seen becoming dismayed when she witnesses her brother sparing Simba's life when he could have taken him from behind. She is seen upset over Nuka's death but it is not revealed what her own feelings are over the situation due to her loyalty to her mother and brother.

She takes part in the battle at the end of the movie and is seen to taunt and confront Nala while her mother deals with Simba. Despite this, she is the first to stand up to her mother when her brother and Kiara intervene and state that the prides should unite as one. She later joins Pride Rock following the death of her mother and lives the remainder of her life with the rest of the lions.

Vitani's name was originally to be Shetani, which means 'devil', so it was changed to Vitani instead.
