"Vanessa Less Tessa" is the 9th episode of the second season of Pepper Ann. It aired on October 10, 1998.

Synopsis[]

Pepper Ann uses what she learned from her favorite sitcom Crazy Twin Shenanigans to get Vanessa to reconcile with her sister Tessa.

Plot[]

Pepper Ann adores the sitcom Crazy Twin Shenanigans, though it clearly gives her the wrong idea of twins, which Nicky is quick to point out. At school, the two spot real twins Tessa and Vanessa James arguing about something and then splitting up. Pepper Ann, believing that the sitcom has informed her enough, decides to try and get the two back together by speaking to Vanessa. Vanessa thinks that it is easier to just apologize, but Pepper Ann thinks it is better to get caught in shenanigans; even though Tessa and Nicky believe that an apology is better.

Pepper Ann dresses up like Vanessa and tries to be her new twin. Through a series of "antics", Pepper Ann tries to bring Tessa and Vanessa back, but each ploy just makes things worse for the two and backfires horribly, such as Pepper Ann sending the wrong message around the school, having Vanessa sleep in her pantry and finally trying to use the intercom system at school; the last one resulting in Pepper Ann, Nicky, Tessa and Vanessa getting sent to detention. It is at this point that Pepper Ann admits that she has never seen the last ten minutes of any episode as she was called away for dinner each time.

Nicky finally has Pepper Ann watch the last couple of minutes of each episode where, to her surprise, they all end with Gina and Tina apologizing to each other. Pepper Ann apologizes to Vanessa and she and Tessa apologize to one another. Pepper Ann once again takes the credit for the revelation with Milo, who was at the Cheezy & Greezy this whole time, agreeing. Pepper Ann gets furious however when she realizes that Tessa and Vanessa were fighting over who was the cutest.

Trivia[]

  • Crazy Twin Shenanigans is most likely a reference to shows like Sister, Sister.
  • Nicky gets sent to detention in this episode. However, in "Permanent Record", Nicky claimed that that was her first time.
  • This is the first mention of Stewart Waldinger who makes his first actual appearance a couple of episodes later in "Presenting Stewart Waldinger".
