What's up, guys? Tigerfan45 here, and I'm back again. A few weeks ago, I made a list of the Disney sequels that are, in my opinion, good. I also said that soon I would make a reciporacal list of the Disney sequels that I think are bad. Without further ado, I give you, my list of the 10 worst Disney sequels. Unlike the last list, I was able to get pictures for this one.
I know a lot of people think that this movie is awful, but I put it pretty low on the list, mostly because the most I can give this movie is, It's not terrible. I thought that the story, while continuing from the first film, was unoriginal. The songs I found to be kind of unmemorable, when compared to something like "The Bare Necessities". I also found the character of Ranjan to be extremely annoying! If you thought Jar Jar Binks' voice was annoying, get a load of this! The only good things about this film were that the voice acting was good, for the most part, and the fact that Shere Khan is still awesome.
This one, like most people say, is very bad. The songs were umemorable, with the exceptions of "Good Doggie, No Bone" and the opening song/. I also did not like the abscence of Big Mama and Dinky and Boomer. The old characters, except for Tod and Copper, were just cardboard cut-outs of themselves, and the new characters were either completely unnecessary and uninteresting or annoying. I also dislike how in the third act, we have to go through the whole "Liar Revealed" bit that I, the Nostalgia Critic, and many others despise.
I find this one to be the weakest of the Cinderella movies. While I do like the Idea of having Anastasia begin the process of reformation, it doesn't feel like an actual movie. It feels more like a compialation of episodes from a failed TV shoe. The new characters are just bland and uninteresting. The animation is sloppy at parts. This is a cinderella story that you can definitely skip.
A lot of people say that this movie stinks. I am one of them. The original cars is already considered by many to be worse film made by Pixar. I, myself liked the first film, but I've only seen this one once. I was dumbfounded by the environmental message in this film, since this is a world where everyone and everything, including the animals and insects, is a vehicle. One would think that the ozone layer would be destroyed in an instant. I did not like the fact that Mcqueen was reduced to being a side character, while Mater was the Main Character.
Don't get me wrong, I like Mater, and I'm not against having comic relief and side characters getting their own movies, far from it. That's why The Lion King 1 1/2 made the good list. But, in The Lion King 1 1/2, having Timon and Pumbaa as the main characters worked because they were still funny in that movie. Mater is not funny in this movie. I also thought that the villain was kind of weak. Personally, I'd skip this one.
This one can be considered worse than the first film. The songs were mostly unmemorable and the animation was sloppy. The story was pretty complicated for me. I don't like how the villain was one that we already had, who wasn't even a good villain in the original film. Not to mention, it is beyond historically inaccurate. Shakesphere was dead by the time Pocahontas came to London. Fans of John Smith will be disappointed to see Pocahontas dump him for that idiot, John Rolfe. Pocahontas' bodyguard, I can't say his name right, was just downright useless. Just pass this if you see it at a video store.
What fan of the first Aladdin movie likes this? The story is forgettable, the songs are annoying, and the animation is sloppy. The story only serves to get Iago on the good guy side and Jafar killed. Not to mention, there's also Dan Castellenta's half-hearted attempt to recreate Robin Willaims' work on the genie, who is reduced to being just the comic relief and nothing more. Abis Mal was also very annoying. This is a terrible sequel. It's not the worst though, we'll get to that one later. Just don't watch this.
This is just a watered-down rehash of the first movie. Also, Ariel is a jerk in this movie. I know she had good intentions, but, clearly that's not helping. The songs I found to be extremely annoying. The villain, Morgana is nowhere close to being a good successor for Ursula! Tip and Dash are just rip-offs of Timon and Pumbaa. Plus, Plotholes everywhere! When Ariel built the sea wall, why didn't the fishermen of the kingdom strike a rebellion against her? Why didn't Morgana just use the Ursula's magic bottle to change Undertow back? Just don't bother watching this. It's just "little mermaid 1" again, except without any of the charm.
Oh, come on, Disney! That one wasn't even a hit! Why are you giving sequels to stuff you already know failed? Well, that's not the point. The point is: the movie is bad. Just like Cinderella II, instead of feeling like an actual movie, it feels more like episodes from a failed TV show. I didn't know why Michael J. Fox didn't reprise his role as Milo, while most of the rest of the original cast reprise their roles. I also didn't know who the main villain was supposed to be. Since the movie feels like a TV series, that can make the story a little complicated. The animation is also very bad in this. This one you can definitely skip.
This is the only live-action sequel in my "sequel" lists, but that's beside the point. How's the movie itself? It's awful! The story is so boring! The only actors from the original that reprise their roles are John Cleese and Thomas Hayden Church. The villain, again, is one that we already had, Lyle Van De Groot. George himself, in this movie, is a complete pushover! Ursula doesn't serve that much to the plot apart from looking hot and being hypnotized and kidnapped by the villains. When I first watched this abomination of a sequel, I nearly puked. You might also puke yourself if you watched this. If you don't want to puke, don't bother watching this.
And the # 1 worst Disney Sequel is...
Oh, gosh, do I hate this film! The animation is worse than a Saturday morning cartoon! The story is boring as it only serves to get Quasimodo a girlfriend and nothing else. The songs are terrible, and the worst of them is "Fa-la-la-la Fallen in Love", the half-hearted attempt to recreate "A Guy Like You". Hugo, Victor, and Laverne are reduced to being just the comic relief and nothing more. They spend most of the movie just dropping one-liners, I didn't care for their role in this film, which is a shame because I did like them in the original film. Phoebus is beyond out of character in this. Zephyr I found to be extremely annoying. And, the villain is nowhere close to being a good successor for Frollo! Fans of the original Victor Hugo novel will find this absolutely repulsive, and fans of the first movie will find this just cheap fanfiction. This is the worst Disney sequel. Don't watch this.
And those are my 10 worst Disney sequels. At most, these movies are just a bunch of pretty images to keep your kids entertained. That's not what most people think when they hear the name "Disney". Did you agree with any of my choices? Did you disagree with any of them? Do you have any requests for any other lists I can do? Feel free to post how you feel about these movies and any requests for lists from me in the comments below. Until next time, this is Tigerfan45, take care! See you around!
