Tyler Gerald "Ty" Burrell (born August 22, 1967) is an American actor and comedian who is best known for his main role as Phil Dunphy on the ABC sitcom Modern Family since 2009, as well as the character Mr. Peabody in the Dreamworks animated film, Mr. Peabody and Sherman .
He played Connor in the 2007 Disney mystery adventure film National Treasure: Book of Secrets, and plays an Interpol inspector agent named Jean Pierre Napoleon in the 2014 Disney musical comedy film Muppets Most Wanted. He also voices Big Jack on the Disney Channel/Disney Junior pre-school children's series Doc McStuffins. He also voiced Bailey in the 2016 Disney/Pixar film Finding Dory.
He also played Doc Samson in the 2008 Marvel Studios film The Incredible Hulk.
