Thomas William "Tom" Hiddleston (born February 9, 1981) is an English actor who is well known for playing Loki Laufeyson in the Marvel action films Thor, The Avengers (which earned him the 2013 MTV Movie Award for Best Villain), and the 2013 Marvel action film Thor: The Dark World. He will reprise his role in the 2017 Marvel action film Thor: Ragnarok, the 2018 Marvel action film Avengers: Infinity War and the 2019 Marvel action film The Avengers 4. He also makes a cameo appearance as "Great Escapo" in Disney's 2014 musical comedy film Muppets Most Wanted, and played James, a young Captain Hook, in The Pirate Fairy. After filming his role for Muppets Most Wanted (and having become well known for his celebrity impressions), ShortListMag asked him to do an impression of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Attending the 2012 BAFTA Awards, Hiddleston gave Miss Piggy a kiss on the red carpet. Later that year, he tweeted a photo of himself and a Kermit doll dressed as Loki at the premiere of The Avengers in Rome. He called it the "one of the greatest moments of my life. He also played Captain James Nicholls in War Horse.

Disney Roles

  • Hiddleston was tested for the role of Thor Odinson in Thor, but at the end, Chris Hemsworth was cast instead, although Hiddleston ended up being cast as Loki Laufeyson, the film's main antagonist. Also, Hiddleston jokingly proposed to hire him as the film's director, but his proposal was rejected due his lack of experience and director Kenneth Branagh was hire instead.[1]
