Pinocchio was really original released December 25, 1939. And I have researched some pictures of it to and I have went to a mesum in the summer of 2011 and the release date for Pinocchio was in the 1939 section so therefore Pinocchio was really original released December 25, 1939 not Feburary 7, 1940. And I have a link to prove you and it is reviewd by Chris Tookey http://www.movie-film-review.com/devFilm.asp?ID=8683. And Disney's animated Film Pinocchio had a 70th aniversary special edition DVD in 2009 is another reason why we have clearly stated that Pinocchio was released in 1939. And STOP changing from 1939 to 1940 because Pinocchio was really released in 1939 and I have clearly stated that and here is a picture of the 2009 DVD for Pinocchio which is the 70th aniversary special edition when it was released in 1939.
Disney's animated film "Pinocchio" celebrated its 70th aniversary in 2009 so therefore Pinocchio was really released in 1939.
LegalizeAnythingMuppets thank you for clearly stating that Pinocchio was first released in 1939 like what most people know not just what wikipedia said and I know Wikipedia is not always correct.
Well, I wouldn't be too sure about that. Besides, I and other users still think that Pinocchio was originally released on February 7, 1940. Many websites said so.
Well they are wrong I am a good expert on Disney. When I read the biography of Walt Disney I found out that Pinocchio was really originally released on December 25, 1939. Maybe you should read about it.

If you're so much an expert on this, how come you've been blocked several times for false information?

Well, I agree. Websites say that so, but it was technically released on February 7th 1940.Â
Read this great new book about "Pinocchio" by JB Kaufman. It explains that although they TRIED to release it on Christmas of 1939, they failed at it, due to Walt's perfectionism. In the meantime, it was promoted on December 25 on the Lux radio program. The film would not even be ready for previews until early January 1940, and even then, there was a slew of quick corrections they had to do before February 7.
Actually, according to JB Kaufman's book on the film, production was STILL going on in January 1940! There was a flurry of retakes necessary, especially after a preview on January 1940.
