    • 1. Frozen (of course, no hate plz. It was touching, and I loved nearly every song in the movie. Olaf is now my favorite Disney character and I have a collection of Olaf plushies and statues) 2. The Hunchback of Notre Dame (I never actually thought I'd watch it in my lifetime, but when I was watching WatchMojo.com's Top 10 Disney Villain Songs, Hellfire was #1 and something drew me to the movie, and I LOVED it when I finally did watch it) 3. Big Hero 6 (I don't know why, but I just like it. Fred is life) 4. The Lion King (I always loved the story, since I had a book of it when I was younger, but I never thought I'd get a chance to see the movie. Well, some things happened in 6th grade, and the teacher showed the movie to our class. It was one of those things I just liked for no reason. I guess it's because there's nothing to hate it for.) 5. Toy Story (I grew up with Toy Story, and I still have a little Woody doll in my basement. My mom loved it too. We had both Toy Story and Toy Story 2. The first one I love the most because it's SO FUNNY!!!) 6. Tangled (Hilarious, dark at times like when Mother Gothel died. Everything I like in a Disney movie, and Flynn Rider was just perfect XD) 7. The Princess and the Frog (Dr. Facilier's death is FUNNY!) 8. Ratatouille (I can finally spell it! Yay! The rat was so cute) 8. Aladdin (You gotta admit, Prince Ali was one heck of a catchy song) 9. Beauty and the Beast (a classic love story, better than Twilight. This one I BEGGED to get on DVD as a kid because I never saw it. And who didn't love little Chip and Mrs Potts?) 10. The Emperor's New Groove (God, was that movie hilarious. "A llama? He's supposed to be DEAD!)

      10. Oliver & Company I think that Home On The Range is the most weakest Walt Disney film ever made. I'm not saying that it was totally terrible. It just wasn't memorable. The animation was decent and I liked just one of the songs, but the rest of the film was just bland and forgetable. I hope that I didn't offend you.

But I would have to say that my top ten favorite Walt Disney films are:

    • Okay, so I don't know how qualified I am, since I don't know that many of them. But here are the ones I liked specially, more or less in this order:

      10. Finding Nemo > which was really suspenseful and moving

      9.  Sleeping Beauty > which is just classic

      8.  Pocahontas > which doesn't let you hide from the truth

      7.  Ratatouille > which makes me sigh, with sympathy and longing at the same time

      6.  Tangled > which steadfastly believes in the power of the human

      5.  The Princess and the Frog > which made me dig a little deeper, which makes you think twice

      4.  Beauty and the Beast > the theme song says it all

      3.  The Lion King > which is a movie about life itself, with everything that's in it, and it makes me cry every time

      2. Mulan > which is SO relatable. And then it's fascinating, funny, scary, beautiful, sad and inspiring all at once

      1.  The Hunchback of Notre Dame > which is the ultimate movie. The movie to end all movies.

I also love these movies for these priceless songs: Once upon a Dream, Colors of the Wind, Savages, Just around the Riverbend, If I never Knew you, I see the Light, When will my Life Begin?, I've got a Dream, Almost there, Ma Belle Evangeline, Dig a Little Deeper, Beauty and the Beast, Something There, Belle, Circle of Life, Can you Feel the Love Tonight?, Reflection, A Girl Worth Fighting For, I'll Make a Man out of You, Heaven's Light/Hellfire, God help the Outcast, Out There,... respectively.

(and I know, Frozen didn't make the list, but I am grateful for Love Is an Open Door, Do you want to Build a Snowman?, For the First TIme in Forever and Fixer-Upper.)Also, does Enchanted count?? I LOVE Enchanted.

      10. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is a very nice, charming, and funny film. It’s a bit on the simple side, but considering it is Disney’s first attempt at making a feature length animated film, I can let that slide. The characters are actually pretty darn good too. Snow White, is a bit too nice, but when telling the dwarves to clean up for dinner, she did show she has a strict side to her, which was good, and does have a brain as she came up with the deal to do the dwarves' housework in exchange for shelter. She is kind of gullible, and romantic, so she does clearly have a full character to her. I would even go so far as to say that…. she’s rather underrated, and probably my 5th favorite Disney Princess. The dwarves are all very simple characters, and are actually very fun despite each only having only a few personality traits each. Probably because of how well most of them work off of each other. Grimhilde…I am sorry, but you are just one of Disney’s least interesting villains, and aside from "High-Ho" the soundtrack is not that impressive. Aside from the simple “Don’t trust strangers” message, there is not really a moral. Also, I have to give some credit to the romance between Snow White and the Prince. At least it was each other’s singing voice that made them fall for each other instead of just looks, and it was kept as a small sub-plot, this made it a lot more tolerable in the end unlike the romance plots in A LOT of other Disney films. Plus, since it was the first Disney film to have a kiss save the day, I will let it slide this time. When I get to Sleeping Beauty, I will rip this troupe a new one. Overall Snow White and the Seven Dwarves started off Walt’s career in movies, and for very good reason!

      9. Lilo and Stitch

A wonderful story of Friendship and finding the good in others, this film is very sweet and adorable. Stitch's development is just as lovable as his design, and Lilo is such a sympathetic outcast. On top of that, the friendship between the two titular characters is so endearing and Stitch is so cute!!!! The big action scene near the end is fantastic, and the sub-plot of Nani trying to keep custody of her little sister after their parents passed away, is sweet, despite being the weaker part of the film.

      8. Wreck It Ralph

I love Video Games, so the basic premise appealed to me right away, but past the video game exterior, we have some very complex characters like Ralph and Vanellope, and a MUCH more subtle, and better written message about prejudices than Zootopia does. Heck, they used a love at first sight between Felix and that army girl, and it didn't even bother me. Mostly because Felix's love is mostly played for laughs instead of a serious romance. Ralph being discriminated just for his role as the game's villain is so sad and heartbreaking, and really makes you want to see the guy show those douches just how much of a nice guy he is. Vanellope is a great character, who while she does a bit of a douchey thing when first introduced, she actually has good reasons. Her life is shit, and she just wants to improve it. Much like Ralph, she is very sympathetic.

      7. Tangled

A film that shows how a sign of true love, is someone who will help you make a new dream, instead of some stupid kiss. On top of that, I have to say that the romance between Rapunzel and Flynn Rider to be the best couple Disney has ever done. They start off hating each other, but over time, they warm up to each other, and fall in love. Much like Usagi and Mamoru, this is an endearing romance, and also shows character development. Each character comes off as a very likable one, except the bland villain. Maximus is one of Disney's funnies comic reliefs, and the story, while simple is very good.

      6. Big Hero 6

A unique superhero film, and best film in the entire genre, that takes on the topic of the 5 stages of grief, with the superhero stuff being a metaphor for a coping mechanism. The cast is very lovable; especially Gogo, Baymax, and Hiro. While only Hiro and Baymax are the ones who have the most notable development, The others are a bit basic, but really liable (aside from Honey who was annoying) A villain who does horrible actions, but not out of being evil, and instead is much more complex and just trying to avenge his daughter. The anime action, and actually making science interesting. This is a true masterpiece.

      5. Mulan

A film with a strong female lead, who does not come off as sexist or feminist. The story about how she is willing to put her life on the line to make sure her aging father does not have to fight in the war, where he would be easily killed, and is fully aware of what could happen if her identity as a woman was revealed. It is a great tale of equal genders and a child's love for their parents.

      4. Lion King

What is there to say about Lion King? With the exception of Simba, and MAYBE Zazu, the cast is fantastic. Timon and Pumbaa are hilarious, and very endearing. Scar is one of the most compelling Disney villains, due to just how devious he is. Plus the themes of how the Circle of Life goes on. How people are born and die, and how it is all a natural thing is very deep. More detail will come in the full review.

      3. Frozen

This movie was quick to gain huge popularity, and for good reason! It is a masterpiece. The characters such as Anna, Elsa, and Olaf are endearing and complex, the story about two sisters trying to reconnect is much more compelling than a stupid romance story. Plus it is a Disney film that shows what TRUE love is instead of a dumb kiss. Here, it shows how TRUE love is giving up what you want for the sake of others, such as Elsa pretty much sacrificing her own happiness to keep Anna safe. It also shows the possible consequences of rushing into relationships and blindly trusting people, in addition to pushing people out of your life to keep them safe, and did it MUCH better than the stuff in Spider-Man 2. On top of hard topics like mental breakdowns, and not hiding who you are, just to name a few, the film is very deep and symbolic as well. Plus there is the amazing soundtrack and animation, this truly stands out as one of Disney's best, and VERY deserving of the popularity it has gained. This movie is a HUGE improvement over their previous film based on a Hans Cristian Anderson story.

      2. Nightmare Before Christmas

The only Disney film where EVERY song is good. Not only that, but Jack Skellington is a very endearing character. He is the king of Halloween and is bored with doing the same thing every year. But upon discovering Christmas, he decides to take over the holiday. However he does not come off as a jerk. He comes off as a misguided man, who wants to try something new, despite his own successful business. He almost kills hundreds of kids, but it's not intentional. Jack is a character who makes mistakes, but they are that, mistakes. He never tries to hurt people (unlike that horrid Ariel scumbag)

      1. Hunchback of Notre Dame

Disney's best film, and a surprisingly dark one at that. Taking on themes such as attempted genocide and lust, this is a bit more mature than most Disney film. Not only that, but the characters are also fantastic. Quasi is the perfect example of how sometimes the nicest people might be hideous, while Frollo, looks like a man, and is a complete monster, even though he's the most realistic villain Disney has ever used. Phoebus, being a good-looking hero character also helps complete the message, as it shows that a person should be judged by their actions, and not their appearance, and not shaming either handsome or ugly people. Not only that, Frollo's complexity specifically how he believes that his genocide of the gypsies is what god wants, and how his struggle as he lusts over Esmerelda is tearing away at him. In addition to a wonderful soundtrack with songs like "Bells of Notre Dame" and "Hellfire", this truly stands out as Disney's best film.

    • The Nightmare Before Christmas does have a spot in my honorable mentions, I especially liked their first song, This Is Halloween

I have mixed feelings about Sleeping Beauty. To me it wasn't that interesting most of the way through, though it does gain points for the dramatic irony despite being heartbreaking for Aurora, but then that battle with Maleficent at the end, one of the most epic battles in Disney history, right there with Scar, Jafar, and King Candy

    • Keep in mind that I'm only using official Walt Disney Animated Classics canon films.

      10) The Emperor's New Groove - This is the funniest film that Disney have ever made. Every single character in this film is perfect.

      9) Beauty and the Beast - Such a touching story. Probably Disney's best film that centres around romantic love.

      8) The Great Mouse Detective - One that I watched recently that I was really surprised by. Really interesting story and Ratigan was an excellent villain. Disney's most underrated film IMO.

      7) Mulan - Really good film. Had a good message about equality which didn't feel preachy or forced.

      6) The Hunchback of Notre Dame - A really intriguing and dark story. Frollo is my favourite Disney villain.

      5) Aladdin - Great story, great soundtrack, great characters, funny - what's not to love?

      4) The Lion King - Easy to see why this is so many people's favourite. Mufasa's death scene and the "remember who you are" scene are simply iconic. This film would've been perfect if it weren't for a dull 15-20 minute period between Mufasa's death and Can You Feel the Love Tonight. Nonetheless, it's a brilliant film.

      3) Tangled - An absolutely brilliant film. Flynn is my favourite Disney male character, and Rapunzel and Flynn are my favourite Disney couple. The lantern scene is, in my opinion, the most beautiful scene in Disney history.

      2) Big Hero 6 - Often harshly dismissed as a "dumb superhero movie", but it's so much more than that. Hiro's breakdown makes me cry like a little girl. Also, Baymax is probably the funniest Disney character ever.

      1) Frozen (please don't hurt me) - This was the film that got me interested in Disney films. Was expecting a stereotypical princess story and was absolutely blown away. This film had so much emotional depth. In my opinion, Elsa is the most complex and interesting character that Disney have ever made, and they have so much potential for a brilliant sequel.

Honourable Mentions: Wreck-It Ralph, Zootopia, Tarzan, Dumbo, Pinocchio.

Why not do a live-action remake of Zootopia?

What?! In my original post, I said nothing about live action films.

    • DOUGLAS P. Peterson, NO SARACASTIC MOCKING JOKE OF ENJOYMENT! I didn't write what you put to trick other. I'm who supports the gentle attentive Admin Graywolf2 so I'm one younger user have to be careful with I'm 27 Douglas!

Different movies cheer us up , different movies teach us a few things, different movies can inspire us. No more false comment especially a page like this one. Plus no argument on my wall either Douglas, I'm not easy to decieve, or weaken by rude personality joke. I'm one with enough insight to stay safe and move on with courage Douglas. So haha you weren't able to make me frown Douglas, even with your false words above.
