  • I guess this is more of an opinion question. I could really see her as an independent field researcher in biology. I could see her involved in all kinds of causes and as an author and activist. Maybe even one of those people who give seminars. But I could see that also she'd own a farm, and be an executive director of some biological world saving organization. She'd probably discover and invent stuff, and win a Nobel Prize. Yet, I think she'd work a lot for home so she can take care of the farm and family when not out on missions. She could probably go to Afrjica and train the rangers to fight poachers like they are.

    • Probably she would just be an underrated, undiscovered salesgirl in a supermarket, living out her true personality by watching fantasy and action movies... all the time wondering when her reflection would show who she is inside :(

Watch Enchanted to see what happens to Disney Princesses when they face our drab reality.

Well, if she's lucky, I think she'd probably be, like you say, an activist that really fights for what she believes in. Or she could be an actress, but not the silly, glamorous type - but serious and headstrong like Jennifer Lawrence or Angelina J.

        Loading editor
    • I can't really see her as an actress, but I like how you started her off. I can see her doing the whole fantasy, action movie thing, and all into role play and video games. Probably even Pokemon card games and stuff. When she's young, she probably would have a boring, store job, but then I think she'd break out of that when she got older. Kind of like the movie I guess, but it would take long because college takes forever and you can hardly do anything without it these days! I think she coulkd get a scholarship though. The only problem is, I think her parents would want her do do one thing and her another.

But yeah, I can see her as the strong Jennifer Lawrence type of personality. I actually took a test of which actor or actress would play you in your life story, and I got her.

    • Since Mulan is a proactive person, she would indeed break free and manage to become what she has to. Maybe she'd be one of the few girls who don't get held back by technical or societal boundaries. As you say, the setting she was born into (in the film) was not exactly rosy, and she took the road less travelled by, the crazy path to become so amazing.

So I'd hope for the best... I don't know what job she'd have, but one thing's for sure: If Mulan lived in modern times, she'd be MY BEST FRIEND EVER!!!

The best friend thing = truest thing ever.

    • i think that mulan would work in 2 ways: maybe enter to the modern chinese army (or the usa army), where surely gain a high rank, or be a novel writter, not necesary romantic.

    • Though I could see her involved in military affairs and as a fighter and strategist, I don't see Mulan directly in the army. (Maybe an advisor or something?) I'd see her practicing MMA and shooting as hobbies though. I could see her as a novel writer (and yeah definitely not romantic. Maybe around science fiction or fantasy?). Anyways, thanks for answereing. :-}

    • True. I love historical dramas. Like "The Great Queen Seon Deok." (Well, that's a kdrama tv series, but still.) I actually write historical dramas of Mulan, so it's kind of awesome and ironic. :-} I like your thinking there.

    • Never seen that movie. Is it good?

I write about Mulan as a Disney character, but I set the plot to the Sui Dynasty, and sometimes add in some historical figures, and use real life events. Its incorporated. For example, I based the Huns not on the Xiongnu wars in the Han Dynasty, but on one of the last Hunnic clans (There were a lot!), that were beginning to give rise to other civilizations. They would be like the last purebloods. (The Gokturk Khaganate, for example, was said to have Hunnic ancestors and took many of their traditions.)

where i can read your book?

    • Well, I can't actually publish it because of copyright issues. Unless Disney were to let me, which it might if I get my credibility up. Right now I'm still writing another book that I want to get published, and thinking about a comic book series. But the book I'm trying to publish is like an account of an alien race.

Anyways, the movie sounds cool. You know, in Mulan's modern form, I imagined her bombing a bomb.

well, i draw at hand and after i paint in PC. i think that you cant recognize the princess because i use my draw style, you can identify by the phrase my style: name of the princess.

until now i draw pocahontas, jazmine, bella, aurora and mulan. i draw one by week, the next week i will draw Ariel, and sofia the first will be the last after i draw the major princess.

really not, simple i decide draw the princess having a paranormal power and weapon, in the mulan's case, a magical tatoo that let her create and manipulate the fire, jasmine and bella was the only that i not give a power, only a weapon, but i think change it.

the mulan's spear is a chinese weapon, unfortunatelly i dont know their name in chinese, only know their japanese name, is a houtengeki

Magical control over the water(is for it she appears surfing) and their magical voice, that have hypnotical effect in every being. in the film is implied that ariel have these power in their vice and is it that allow ursula manipulate eric

    • For me, Mulan lives in modern times, because she's seen along with Donald, Mickey and so on so forth (which are obviously modern characters) in House of Mouse. The China of the Disney Universe is probably only "old fashion".

    • I always think of Disney crossovers as time travel.

        Loading editor
    • I think of Disney crossovers as time and space travel, as in they all exist in separate dimensions at different parts of time, but are totally accustomed to doing it as though it where nothing. (Time and space travel I mean)

Like, perhaps the boundaries between worlds are invisible to them and they just dissolve into another world without realising.

        Loading editor
    • I could see that in someways. Like they're in a multiverse and Disney is the dictator universe that just likes to randomly mess with the space time continuum and sell it to our dumb universe because we pay for weird things to appear on little boxes (tvs).

        Loading editor
    • Come on, it's not like if we went back to China in the time the movie is set in, we'd meet Mulan or anybody else.

Why can't you just accept them as literary or cultural or whatever figures?!

        Loading editor
    • Mulan could be real. They don't know yet.

        Loading editor
    • The idea of the Time Travel is interesting, but I continue to think what I said first. Somebodybends, we already accept them as literary figures (we're not stupid on the point to think Disney characters are real !)… But our approach is near Don Rosa's one for the Uncle Scrooge Comics: we seek solutions to the problems of consistency that arise in this fictional universe.

        Loading editor
    • So what's all this talk about space and dimensions?

        Loading editor
    • I started bringing up time and dimensions because Scrooge MacDuck brought up the Hous of Mouse, and some of us imagined that characters could meet each other despite their stories' settings through time travel.

here are a draw that maybe you will look, is a bout a idea to a disney princess, is a draw that i made:

      [1]

is tsuruhime, a female samurai, i like their history.

        Loading editor
    • That's a cool drawing. Did you invent her or is she based on a real samurai? I like Japanese history too, but I'll admit I know a lot more about China and Korea.

well, i draw her, but tsuruhime was a real samurai female, exist information in the red about her. if tsuruhime turn in to a disney princess, she could be the second who exist in the reallity, the fisrt is pocahontas.

well, another idea about tsuruhime is that if she appears in sofia the first, she could be the first disney princess that james meet and he will have a instant crush by her.
