Thorny is a character from the film, A Bug's Life.
Thorny is a short, grumpy ant who is a member of the Council of Ants. He usually carries an abacus to calculate the number of seeds that have been harvested so far. He often stands watch to see if Hopper and his gang are coming. Thorny greatly dislikes Flik because of his clumsiness and bothersome inventions. After Hopper's first visit, when he insists that the ants provide extra food to make up for the lack of food, he doubts that they'll be able to make double quota by the time Hopper returns. When P.T. Flea comes to Ant Island looking for his troupe and reveals their secret by mistake, Thorny is flabbergasted, as is the rest of the colony. Following Flik's banishment, as the ants frantically collect any food they can find, which is still insufficient, Thorny explains that they'll starve if they relinquish any more. However, by the end of the movie, Thorny comes around to Flik and realizes he has misjudged him. He even uses Flik's grass seed harvester, as do the rest of the colony.
