The Second Star to the Right, is from the 1953 animated feature film Peter Pan. The star is not only one of the recognizable icons to the film, but has become one of Disney's trademarks. It has been featured in many other Disney films as well.
This may be a connection to Peter Pan but, could also just be a coincidence. Near the end of the movie when Ray, a firefly who helps Tiana and Prince Naveen in finding Mama Odie, dies, his family and friends have a funeral for him. He is then set in a tree leaf and carried away by the river into the mist and disappears. But, when he is gone a light shines from the sky and everyone looks up in disbelief. Ray (who was in love with the northern star, thinking she was a firefly, Evangeline) joins Evangeline and becomes a star right beside her. Coincidentally, the second star to the right.
At the very beginning of the Walt Disney Pictures intro in every Disney film since 2006, in the clouds you can see the two stars, including the one on the right, in the sky.
The magic of the Second Star to the Right, is the main focus of the Disneyland Paris attraction, Disney Dreams!
