"The Savannah Summit" is the twenty-eighth episode of the Disney Junior animated series The Lion Guard. It premiered on July 7, 2017 and is the second episode in the second season.
Plot[]
The Lion Guard are playing Baobab when they meet up with Mtoto. Suddenly, Mtoto tells his mother calling for him to come home. Ono explains to his friends that elephants are blessed with super hearing. Mtoto also hears a bunch of animals heading to Pride Rock. Kion explains that they're doing that because of the Savanah Summit, a meeting the Lion King holds every year before the dry season. Suddenly, Mtoto hears a crocodile and Ono reveals that it's Makuu. Because Makuu has never cared about the Circle of Life, the Lion Guard assumes he's there to ruin the Summit and go to stop him.
When they get to Pride Rock, Kion tackles Makuu only for Simba and Makuu to reveal that the former invited the latter. Kion tells his father that he doesn't trust Makuu because of everything he and his Float have done to which Simba reminds his son that the point of the Summit isn't to talk to your friends but how to make friends. Ma Tembo and the other leaders are just as distrustful of Makuu as Kion is. Meanwhile, Kion remains convinced that Makuu is up to something to ruin the Summit to the point where everytime Mtoto hears something related to Makuu Kion pounces on him only to find out that Makuu was just having a discussion with one of the other leaders. Finally, Makuu gets so fed up that he storms off. Simba scolds his son for blindly assuming things and tells him that his conclusion-jumping is what's ruining the Summit.
Kion contacts Mufasa and tells his grandfather about his worries. Mufasa tells his grandson he should try to figure out what's going on without jumping to conclusions. Kion figures out what's going on in time to keep Makuu from falling into a trap Ma Tempo and her friends set for him. Makuu lets bygones be bygones and the Summit is a success.
