"The Quantum Cup" is the second segment of the twenty-sixth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on November 7, 2015 alongside "The Space Trader".

Plot[]

This is the Quantum Cup, which features three games, two teams, and one winner. It is known as the most rocket-tastic sporting event in the cosmos. The game takes place at the Spectraplex Arena and features the Gamma Rays, a group coached by Queen Gemma and consisting of Haruna, Mirandos, Melvin, and Prince Rygan, taking on the Moonquakes, a group coached by Phoebe and consisting of Miles, Loretta, Pipp, and Blodger. In game one, Miles scored the winning shot against Haruna. The Moonquakes will win the Quantum Cup if they win game two. The score is at 0-0 and is going down to the final seconds. This is when the broadcast goes live.

Leo, Phoebe, and M.E.R.C. are cheering Miles on. Miles gives it his best, but Haruna blocks the kick. The Gamma Rays work together to score the winning goal, meaning the Gamma Rays win game two. This means whoever wins game three will take home the Quantum Cup. Miles and Haruna thank each other for giving it their best efforts, and Miles tells him that the next game will feature a full-on quake attack. Haruna wishes he could join the Moonquakes in the Stellosphere for Marsberry smoothies, but Gemma is making the Gamma Rays go to another star system for blast-jet drills. This is because Gemma found an asteroid field there and wants them to start weaving through the rocks as if they were players.

In the Stellosphere, after the other members of the Moonquakes perform their signature chant, Miles apologizes for not scoring the winning goal, stating that his aim was off. Loretta tells him that he does not need to apologize. Blodger, meanwhile, can not even do a proper kick. The team decides to practice when Phoebe and Leo tell everyone to drink Marsberry smoothies. Phoebe tells the Moonquakes that they are one win away from winning the Quantum Cup, and their practice is paying off, but the most important thing for them is to rest.

In Queen Gemma's ship, Gemma tells the Gamma Rays that the most important thing for them is to practice. Rygan re-assures Gemma that they will win the Quantum Cup. Gemma throws the ball through Melvin, and this is the reason why Melvin can never be goalie. Haruna comes up with the idea of everyone having Marsberry smoothies, but Gemma tells them that the Quantum Cup will taste sweeter than anything. The Gamma Rays perform their signature chant before heading out into space.

Haruna puts the ball in motion, and the Gamma Rays chase after it while pretending the asteroids are opposing players. Gemma warns everyone to stay focused and not get too close to the nearby planet, as they do not want to be pulled into its atmosphere. Everything is going well until Mirandos finds out that an EMP, short for electromagnetic pulse, from a solar storm is heading their way. The EMP then shuts down all of the tech, leaving the Gamma Rays floating in space and unable to hear each other.

Back in the arena, the Moonquakes are wondering where the Gamma Rays are. Miles wonders if something happened to them, and Blodger assumes that that would be terrible. The Gamma Rays then take the Stellosphere to the star system the Gamma Rays went to for practice, which is the Canarian system. Once there, Phoebe is unable to make contact with them. Loretta finds out that deep space probes are reporting that an EMP was heading in this direction earlier. The EMP did hit the ship, but it is built to deflect those kind of pulses, so it is safe. When Miles sees that the top deck is open, this leads to the Moonquakes realizing that the Gamma Rays' blast-jets and coms were shut down by the EMP, and Phoebe tells everyone to scan everywhere, including the asteroid field.

After Haruna sees the Stellosphere, he kicks the quantum kick ball in its direction, capturing the attention of Miles, who realizes Haruna would do something like that. The Moonquakes then see the Gamma Rays, but since the Stellosphere is too big, the Moonquakes decide to rescue the Gamma Rays themselves. Loretta rescues Mirandos, Pipp rescues Rygan, Blodger rescues Melvin, and Phoebe rescues Gemma. After a while, Miles and M.E.R.C. see Haruna, and rescue him before he is pulled into the planet's atmosphere. Once in the hangar, Gemma congratulates everyone, especially Haruna, who's "boom goes the nova" saved them all. Phoebe states that the teams are friends on the field and off. Gemma expects the Gamma Rays to win game three, and Phoebe tells her to bring it on.

It is now overtime of the last game of the tournament with the score 0-0. Blodger successfully blocks the ball, and passes it to Loretta, who passes it to Pipp. He then hands Miles the ball, and Miles tells Haruna to give it his best. Miles successfully kicks the ball into the goal, winning the game and the Quantum Cup for the Moonquakes. Miles congratulates Haruna, who thinks his aim is improving, and Miles tells him that he will get it next time. All of the teammates shake hands, and the Moonquakes are presented with the Quantum Cup.
