"The Power of Twelve" is the first and only episode of the second season of Disney's Star Darlings.
Synopsis[]
Starland is losing all power! The Star Darlings start putting all the pieces together, trying to figure out who is causing this Negative Energy Crisis. Everything points to Lady Stella. But when they go to confront her, they realize that it's actually Lady Cordial who's behind it all. Now the Star Darlings must try and fight Lady Cordial. Will they finally take her down?
Plot[]
Libby recaps on their previous missions, believing granting wishes will save their home, but it proved to be wrong. Starland is still losing power. Leona’s cuff broke and she didn’t get a Power Crystal. Gemma is their last hope in completing the mission.
Gemma is currently the last Star Darling on Earth to search and grant a wish to collect enough Positive Wish Energy to save Starland. The other Star Darlings call her to remind her the remaining time Gemma has to grant the wish. Meanwhile, the Star Darlings are still adding mysterious evidence to Vega’s Odd Wall. Scarlet explains that someone mysteriously replaced her with a girl named Ophelia as a Star Darling. Vega also found Ophelia’s records, which shows her to not be Star Darling material, and Scarlet had to go to Wishworld to save her mission. A vase of flowers was also mysteriously added each Star Darlings’ dorms, containing Negetite and causing them to fight. Cassie explains that her Star-Zap was mysteriously stolen and all her messages were erased when she got it back, believing the culprit to also be a hacker. Cassie also adds that she found her Star-Zap in Lady Stella’s office. Piper reveals her Star Kindness Day messages as another clue. She wrote nice messages to all the Star Darlings but before they got them, someone hacked and rewritten Piper’s messages to sound terribly mean. Piper also adds a premonition of someone she has been seeing in her vision during meditation.
While the other Star Darlings are waiting, Gemma finally calls and reveals that she accidentally granted a bad wish. Leona decides to head down to Wishworld to help Gemma. Meanwhile, the other girls locate the Bad Wish Orb in the underground cave instead of at the Negative Energy Facility. Vega also reveals that the Bad Wish Orb had a masking material, making it look like a Good Wish Orb. The girls use their powers to destroy the Wish Orb in the cave’s well. Suddenly, the lights go out.
All of Starland’s light and power has gone out. Scarlet calms everyone down as they conjure their own lights. Gemma and Leona return from Wishworld with better results. Gemma was able to grant a good wish while Leona’s cuff is fixed. Lady Cordial and Professor Ursa arrive to explain the power crisis problem affecting Starland. As soon as they left, Gemma confirms to Vega that she never got a star-shaped keychain before her mission. Scarlet adds that she also didn’t get a keychain either and never had problems granting her mission wish. Curious, Vega breaks the keychain and reveals Negetite is contained inside. Scarlet quickly kicks the keychain into the well, destroying it. With all of the evidence collected, Vega decides on a good theory of who might be behind the power crisis.
The Star Darlings then arrive at Lady Stella’s office. They share to her all of the collected evidence. As a result, the girls theorized that all the clues link to Lady Stella being the one behind everything. Lady Stella denies the accusation, explaining that the evidence makes it look like she is the culprit. She suddenly remembers Lady Cordial bringing in Cassie’s lost Star-Zap, discovered the computer virus in Piper’s messages, and she has access to all student dorms. Lady Cordial may also be behind replacing Scarlet with Ophelia, sneaking the keychains onto the students’ backpacks, and assigning Gemma to a bad wish mission. Lady Cordial tries to deny the evidence, but Lady Stella still confirms. Cordial reveals her true nature and attacks everyone with Negative Energy before leaving. Lady Stella follows her, leaving the Star Darlings shocked. Sage, Libby, Vega, Leona, and Scarlet follow Lady Stella to help while the other Star Darlings help each other.
At the Negative Energy Facility, Lady Cordial reveals her true plan to set the Star Darlings up on missions to fail and collect enough Negative Energy to take control of Starland. Her plan now is to release all the Negative Energy contained in the Negative Energy Facility to become more powerful. A battle ensues, but Lady Cordial gains the upper hand and begins to drain Lady Stella’s energy.
Still draining Lady Stella’s energy, the Star Darlings arrive and attack her. The girls conjure a giant shield together to block Cordial’s magic while Scarlet throws a large boulder at her. Believing Cordial to be defeated, she rises back up and morphs into her true form, Rancora. The girls try to fight her with their powers, but she is proved to be too strong. The girls then realize that the Negative Energy container is about to break. Sage manages to restore the container’s cracks, but the other Star Darlings are knocked out by Rancora. Vega attacks but is then used by the villainess to be drained for power. Lady Stella weakly uses her power to summon the other Star Darlings to Sage’s location. They arrive just in time to help. Adora heals the injured girls while Piper recognizes Rancora from her vision. Still draining magic, Vega is close to being killed. Cassie quickly uses her invisibility to perform surprise attack on Rancora while Astra uses her speed to rescue Vega. Adora is unable to heal Vega, but the girls realize that their Power Crystals have enough power to save Vega and fight Rancora. Together, all twelve Star Darlings use their Power Crystals to conjure enough Positive Wish Energy and finally defeat Rancora. The girls then use their powers again to bring the light and power back to Starland. After Lady Stella recovers, Libby explains everything before the girls runs off celebrating. Lady Stella finds Rancora’s necklace before it flies away.
