"The Mystery of Atlantix" is the second segment of the twenty-seventh episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on November 14, 2015 alongside "The Legend of the Sandelion".

Plot[]

One morning, the I.O.T.A. gives Miles' hair a different style, and Loretta tells the I.O.T.A. to not wake him. Miles eventually sees his different hair style, and Loretta says that this is because she wrote a grooming code for the I.O.T.A. Stella then informs all Callistos to report to the bridge, and also tells Miles to brush his teeth. Miles wonders if Loretta wrote a grooming code for Stella, and Loretta says that sometimes he forgets.

Once at the bridge, Miles is amazed to see a waterworld up ahead. Phoebe says that this is not just any waterworld, but Atlantix. Loretta knows that name, and also knows that the Wimpleys live there. Phoebe states that they will be helping the Callistos with their mission on the sea floor. Leo says that the mission is to find a Tomorrowland Transit Authority underwater mapping drone loaned to the Atlantixians. Recently, it veered off course and powered down. The Callistos then head in the Star Jetter to get to the planet.

The I.O.T.A. joins in, and Phoebe is impressed by it. Leo, on the other hand, tells M.E.R.C. to store it, as it is too interested in the Callistos' hair, which M.E.R.C. does. Miles wonders how the Callistos are getting down to the sea floor. Leo states that he made a few mods to the Star Jetter. Once it goes into the water, Leo activates the ship's new Aqua Mode, and tells the Callistos to meet the Sea Jetter. This impresses Phoebe, Miles, and Loretta, who believes that it is oceanic. The Callistos then head to the Wimpley's home city.

The Wimpleys then welcome the Callistos to their home. Miles tells Pipp that it is so blastastic that they get to have a mission together. Wimm and Kree checked all of the sensors for anything that may have interfered with the drone, and found nothing other than an electrical storm up on the surface. They did end up with their own mystery, which contains a school of O.R.P.s. Pipp says that they are robot fish, and O.R.P. stands for Ocean Roaming Probe. He is even building his own one. Wimm and Kree continue by stating that Pipp is their O.R.P. expert, and that O.R.P.s gather information on water temperature, currents, sea life, or any other threat, but when they sent O.R.P.s to look for the missing drone, the entire school in that area had also vanished. Leo believes that it could be for the same reason. Pipp is making good progress on his own O.R.P., but he can only turn it on and off. Wimm and Kree tell Pipp that the Callistos have invited him on a mission to find the lost drone. This impresses Pipp, and performs a comet bump with Miles before the Callistos leave the city with the Star Jetter.

A short time later, Phoebe sees through her holo-screen that the Callistos have entered the last known location of the mapping drone. Since the search area covers five square miles, the search will go faster if they split up. By that, Leo reveals that the Star Jetter is not the only thing he modified. After Leo and everyone else stand up, he activates their spacesuits' Aqua Mode. Since Pipp lives on Atlantix, he has his own Aqua Mode. Leo has another surprise: to get around the ocean faster, the Callistos will use what Leo calls Aqua Rockets.

The Callistos are liking the new technology, and eventually, Miles and M.E.R.C. find the drone. Miles then calls everyone else to meet them at the location. Once there, the Callistos see that the drone is damaged beyond repair and has lots of dents. When questioned if there was anything that could have caused all this, Pipp says that there is nothing that he has ever seen when a vortex appears. The Callistos quickly retreat as the vortex sucks in the drone. Leo thinks that it is a deep sea whirlpool or vortex, and Phoebe says that can not be normal. Loretta activates her Bracelex's camera mode and freeze frame, and finds out that it is the missing school of O.R.P.s, spinning around and around. Leo did not expect this, and Phoebe realizes that they are not a victim of the problem, but they are the problem. Pipp notices that something must have messed up their programming for this to happen.

The vortex is now heading for the city, and Pipp is unable to make contact with his parents because the O.R.P.s are causing interference over the com lines. Miles realizes that the O.R.P.s are spinning in the same direction, meaning that they are talking to each other. He wonders if another O.R.P. could send that code. Pipp agrees, but his O.R.P. is at home. Miles and M.E.R.C. have the next best thing: the I.O.T.A. Miles tells Pipp to program the I.O.T.A. to tell the O.R.P.s to turn off. Stopping the vortex is up to Pipp because he is the best one for the job. He then programs the I.O.T.A. to do its thing, and Phoebe tells everyone to keep a safe distance behind it.

However, the vortex is causing lots of rocks to get in the way of the I.O.T.A., and one rock hits it, causing it to stop working. Pipp, Miles, and M.E.R.C. try to pull it out of a crack when the vortex catches Pipp and Miles. Miles tells his parents that he is okay and will turn the I.O.T.A. back on. Pipp is unable to restart the I.O.T.A., and Miles sees that this is because one of its pieces being out of place. He fixes it with his Quantumatic, and the I.O.T.A. reprograms all of the O.R.P.s to turn off, dissolving the vortex in the process and saving the city. Miles tells everyone that when the I.O.T.A. speaks, O.R.P.s listen.

Back in the city, the Wimpleys congratulate Pipp and the Callistos for completing the mission. Pipp can not believe that he helped the Callistos with it. Leo tells him that he can ride along with them anytime, and Loretta tells him that he can ask for help with the O.R.P.s anytime. Pipp still has no idea about why the O.R.P.s' programming got scrambled. Wimm and Kree understand why: lightning from the electrical storm a few days ago struck just as the O.R.P.s were near the surface. They will make sure the O.R.P.s are better insulated so that will not happen again. The I.O.T.A. then appears and gives Pipp's hair a different style. After looking in the mirror, Pipp says that he likes it, but Miles tells the I.O.T.A. to not even think about changing Miles' hair again.
