The Making of Aladdin is a behind-the-scenes documentary hosted by John Rhys-Davies on the making of Aladdin. It originally aired as a television special on November 25, 1992 to promote the film and was later included with the film's deluxe VHS. It was not carried over to the Platinum Edition DVD, however, as it was replaced with an updated special, Diamond in the Rough: The Making of Aladdin. The special was made by The Wrightwood Group and was directed by Dan Boothe.
- The special's host segments were filmed at the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot.
- An edited version of this special accompanied the 1993 broadcast of Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too.
- While John Rhys-Davies didn't have a role in the original film, he did voice Cassim in Aladdin and the King of Thieves.
