"The Adventures of Jet Retrograde" is the first segment of the thirty-fifth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on July 25, 2016 alongside "The Tiny Aliens", and is the first segment of the fifth episode in the second season.

Plot[]

It is Leo's birthday, and the family, along with Blodger, are playing freeze tag with the I.O.T.A. as the tagger. The I.O.T.A. manages to tag Phoebe, Loretta, M.E.R.C., and Leo. The only two remaining are Miles and Blodger. The I.O.T.A. attempts to tag Blodger, but he scares it away by pretending to turn into a monster. Startled, the I.O.T.A. bumps into a shelf in Leo's workshop and knocks over a box containing a holo-projector. Miles, Blodger, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. notice it is playing something and they decide to have a look. What they see is a homemade superhero movie about Jet Retrograde. Leo made it when he was a kid. He played as the hero while Joe played as the villain, Dr. Bubbles. It is also the only movie he ever made of Jet Retrograde after Joe refused to wear soapsuds again to play Dr. Bubbles, and after his mom took away the camera when Leo used all their soap for Joe's costume. Jet Retrograde himself came from stories that his dad, Vincent Callisto, use to tell him when he was a kid.

Just then, the Callistos are contacted by Admirals Watson and Crick, who both have a mission for the family. A cluster of asteroids from space are going to hit planet Palamedes and smash into the charging station on the surface. Usually it is protected by shields, but they're broken. Their mission is to fix the station's shields before the asteroids smash into the station. The Callistos accept the mission and set course for planet Palamedes, despite it being Leo's birthday.

While loading the Star Jetter, the kids cannot help feeling sorry for Leo. Having to work on his birthday. Then they come up with an idea; make a Jet Retrograde movie of their own for Leo, with Miles as the title character and Blodger as Dr. Bubbles, since he can make himself look all bubbly and does not need soapsuds to do it. For additional roles, Loretta chooses to be a famous scientist being held prisoner by Dr. Bubbles, and Miles makes M.E.R.C. as Jet Retrograde's sidekick; the Mighty Mercatroid. Upon arriving at planet Palamedes, The kids have made their costumes and find a suitable filming location for the lair of Dr. Bubbles while Leo and Phoebe repair the charging station's shields. They bring along the I.O.T.A. to do the filming, and as soon as they are in costume they begin. In character, Blodger as Dr. Bubbles demands Loretta, as the captured Professor Loretto, to hand over all her secrets so he can rule the universe. Suddenly, Miles as Jet Retrograde and his sidekick the Mighty Mercatroid come to her rescue. Miles attempts to use freeze tag, and when Blodger ties to scare him away with a roar the I.O.T.A. gets spooked once again. It collides into the rocky walls and causes water to rush in. The kids make it out of the cave before the water falls down the mountain. The water causes a rock slide from beneath their feet, and Loretta and Blodger begin to fall with it, only to be saved my Miles and M.E.R.C. Noticing the I.O.T.A. is still filming, the kids finish off their movie and head back to the charging station, where Phoebe and Leo have finished repairs and restored the station's shields.

After returning to the Stellosphere, the kids present their movie to Leo, along with a surprise visit from Joe and Vincent. Leo loves their movie and considers this the best birthday he has ever had.
