Sultana was the mother of Jasmine and the wife of the Sultan.
Background
Not much is known about Jasmine's mother. She died sometime when Jasmine was either a baby or a child. What is known is that, according to her husband in the original movie, she wasn't nearly as picky at choosing a husband as her daughter.
In the episode "Garden of Evil", the Sultan had taken a flower out of the garden for his new bride; referring to her. The other time she's mentioned is in "More Than A Peacock Princess" is when her mother's horse, Sahara, runs away and it is stated that only her mother could calm Sahara, until Jasmine tries (and succeeds).
