Star Darlings is a Disney publishing book franchise about an extraordinary group of twelve teenage girls from the all-girls' school Starling Academy who have been chosen to go to Earth and grant twelve very special wishes in order to save Starland from an unknown evil force. The first two books were released on September 15, 2015. An animated online series premiered on October 1, 2015.
The first TV special Becoming Star Darlings aired on January 29, 2016 on Disney Channel. This was followed by the second TV special Star Darlings Friendships on March 25, 2016.[1]
The third and final TV special The Power of Twelve aired on November 27, 2016.
The franchise has been inactive since early 2017, and three books that were planned to be released after Star Darlings: Stealing Starlight were cancelled.

The Power of Twelve is a loose adaptation of Gemma and the Ultimate Standoff.
Trivia
- Starland was originally going to be called Star Planet.[2]
- Every character was going to have the surname Starling.[2] However, the dolls' boxes and ID cards have the name printed after the given name. Astra also uses Starling as her surname in Astra's Mixed Up Mission.
- Lady Stella was originally named Cassiopeia. This was changed probably to avoid confusion with the Star Darling Cassie.[2]
- Scarlet was originally going to be the main antagonist of the series alongside an unnamed character who was described as having acid yellow hair.[2] This later got carried over to Vivica.
- The original title for Sage and the Journey to Wishworld was Sage's Story.[3]
- Starling Academy was originally going to be called Star Academy. This was changed at the last minute to avoid trademark infringement with the Star Academy franchise.[4]
- Astra was originally named Arly.[4]
- Vega was originally named Virginia.[4] The name is later given to Vega's mother in Vega and the Fashion Disaster.
- A Star Darling named Prudence was cut in the final version and was replaced by Scarlet.[4]
- Adora was originally named Aquamarine.[5]
- The Wish Blossom looked completely different compared to the final version.[6]
- The book Star Darlings: Stellar Style had the working title Star Darlings; Hairstyles & Looks and was originally going to be released on April 1, 2016.
- Gemma and the Ultimate Standoff was originally going to be called Gemma and the Worst Wish Ever.
- Leona's Unlucky Mission was originally called Leona's Last Chance.
- Star Darlings; Stealing Starlight was originally called Star Darlings: When We Shine.
- Disney Star Darlings Cinestory Comic: Volume 1 was originally going to be released in November 29, 2016.
- Books 15-17 were planned to be released on April 7, 2017, July 11, 2017 and October 17, 2017, but all have been cancelled for currently unknown reasons.
