Sofia the First

Sofia the First is a upcoming television series featuring the Disney Princesses. The series will premiere sometime in winter 2013. It will star Ariel Winter as Sofia who is a young girl on the verge of becoming a princess. The format is said to be similar to Jake and the Never Land Pirates, but with a different theme.

It has been announced that Flora, Fauna and Merryweather will appear. It introduces Sofia, a little girl with a commoner’s background until her mother marries the King and suddenly she is royalty. With the help of the three familiar fairies in charge of the Royal Training Academy — Flora, Fauna and Merryweather of Disney’s classic “Sleeping Beauty” and, on occasion, classic Disney Princess characters including Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White — Sofia learns that looking like a princess isn’t all that hard but behaving like one must come from the heart.
