"Snow Globe" is the second segment of the twenty-ninth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on December 4, 2015 alongside "The Discovery Expedition".

Plot[]

In his room, Miles shows M.E.R.C. the hill where Loretta and Miles are going to learn how to snowboard, on actual snow. Miles knows how to Blastboard and wonders how hard snowboarding can be. However, the snowboard does not hover and the boosters do not work. M.E.R.C. decides to give Miles a push all the way to the bridge, where the Callistos are. As M.E.R.C. prepares to push Loretta, Phoebe stops him, stating that no boosters are needed for snowboarding; the steeper the hill, the faster you go down it. Stella then informs the Callistos about a call from Planet Elfinia. Gong Gong and Po Po are calling from the Christmas cabin in the planet, and the Callistos are delighted to see them. The grandparents show how great the decorations are, and Auntie Frida tells them that it is even more stellar in the inside. Leo wonders where Captain Joe is, and Gong Gong tells hem that Joe is on his way. Phoebe says that the same is said for the Callistos if there are no last-minute Tomorrowland Transit Authority missions. The transmission ends, and Leo believes that the TTA is always quiet as a mouse on Christmas Day.

After the Stellosphere leaves, Commander S'Leet's ship arrives at the Tethoscape. S'Leet and his sidekicks, Blizzbert and Flurrbo, head in the station and use its elevator to go to the climate control chamber. Blizzbert and Flurrbo then hand S'Leet the Wintertide, and plugs it in the chamber, causing snow to fall from the station. An automated voice then orders everyone to evacuate the Tethoscape. Back in the climate control chamber, S'Leet announces that the Tethoscape is now owned by the Frost Empire.

Back at the Stellosphere, Stella informs the Callistos about a call from Admirals Watson and Crick. The Admirals inform them that the Tethoscape is having a white Christmas, and since it is snowing inside, everyone had to evacuate. The Callistos are now tasked to investigate what is causing all of this. This disappoints Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C., but Phoebe and Leo say they will find a simple explanation for the snow and can still make it to the cabin in time for Christmas. However, when they arrive at the Tethoscape, the situation looks bad, with Miles believing that it is a giant snow globe. Phoebe then connects the space tunnel to the station. At the top of the tower, another member of the Frost Empire tells Commander S'Leet that the Tethoscape would be a great addition to the empire's growing armada of starships, with S'Leet believing that it will be the jewel of the Frost fleet. S'Leet plans for him and the member to rendezvous when Blizzbert and Flurrbo see the Callistos arrive at the station. They are tasked to guard the Wintertide while S'Leet deals with the family.

The Callistos then decide to check the climate controls, which are at the top of the tower, first when S'Leet interrupts them. The Callistos do not know him, but Leo says that he is not Santa Claus. S'Leet informs them that the Tethoscape belongs to the Frost Empire, and is taking them with him. Leo plans to let his family go back to his ship. However, S'Leet assumes that they are warning the SpaceGuard, and pilots the Tethoscape away, causing the Stellosphere to detach from the station. S'Leet then takes the Callistos to the nearest planet he can drop them off on, and traps them in an ice wall. Miles and M.E.R.C., however, go out the top before it closes. They decide to turn off the blizzard in hopes of making S'Leet leave.

Back in the ice wall, while Phoebe is trying to break through the ice with her heat ray, Leo contacts Captain Joe, informing him of the situation on the Tethoscape. Joe believes that they are held up on the Tethoscape, and ask them to get to the cabin when they can. However, Leo means that the Callistos are being held prisoner on the Tethoscape and asks him to send help before the signal crashes because of the interference the ice storm is causing. Loretta then finds out through her Bracelex that the Frost Empire travels the galaxy in a fleet of stolen ships. Phoebe assumes that the Tethoscape may be their big score, and Loretta finds out that the leader is Commander S'Leet. Leo says that he is on Santa's naughty list before activating his heat ray.

Miles and M.E.R.C. make it to the climate control chamber, and after facing off with Blizzbert and Flurrbo, they get the Wintertide, turning off the snow. Just then, S'Leet arrives in an attempt to take the Wintertide, but Miles does not release his grip, and falls off the window. Miles then uses his snowboard to sled down the snow while tossing the Wintertide to M.E.R.C. and back until they reach the rest of the Callistos, who have just finished melting down the ice wall. They all melt the Wintertide with their heat rays, but S'Leet tells them that there are many more Wintertides where that came from about his fleet. Blizzbert and Flurrbo then fall down the snow into S'Leet, and the three end up in a space tunnel, which Miles locks with his Lazerang. The member of the Frost Empire says that they have reached the rendezvous point when Leo tells him that S'Leet needs to chill out for a while. Leo then pilots the Tethoscape to its original position before Phoebe contacts Lieutenant Luminix about S'Leet.

Luminix then locks his SpaceGuard ship's tow beam on S'Leet's ship, and takes him to the prison planet, Strickthorpe. S'Leet then fires Blizzbert and Flurrbo. Back at the Tethoscape, Miles and Loretta believe that they missed Christmas, but Phoebe and Leo says that they still have snow and a slope for snowboarding, and all they need is family. The Callistos' parents then arrive, and everyone spends the rest of Christmas on the Tethoscape, with M.E.R.C. squawking "Jingle Bells" in the end.

Trivia[]

  • The episode's title is the same as a toy.
  • Despite having a later premiere date, this episode occurs before the events of "The Pluto Rescue". In "The Pluto Rescue", Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. know Commander S'Leet and his Frost Empire, but in this episode, the Callistos get introduced to him and his empire.
  • In the credits of this episode, M.E.R.C. squawks another Christmas tune, "Deck The Halls". Also in the credits, there is snow falling in the background. This is the second time that the shortened and instrumental version of the show's theme song, "Way Out", is not heard in the end credits. The first was in "Yuri's Night/I, Stella".
