"Sleeping Mermaid" is the first segment of the seventy-ninth episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates. It premiered on September 19, 2014 alongside the re-airing of "Jake's Mega-Mecha Sword", which premiered on February 28, and is the first segment of the eighteenth episode in the third season.
Plot[]
Jake, his crew, Marina, and Queen Coralie are collecting seashells on the beach when the queen notices a message on a stone wall, warning of the dangers of the Spell Shell, which has the power to put anyone into a deep sleep. Marina soon finds the Spell Shell, but as she hands the shell to the queen, it puts Coralie into a deep sleep. The only way to reverse the spell is for Jake and his crew to convince Captain Hook to help. Hook reluctantly agrees to assist the mermaid queen in order to claim the huge pearl Marina offers as a reward.
The first step is for Captain Hook to get past the impassable thorns. Since they are made of wrought iron, he digs one of the thorns away, leading to all of the thorns disappearing. The second step is to climb the unclimbable tower. Captain Hook can't fly up, and he tries to climb it to no avail. Jake decides to use long strands of seaweed and make a rope to make it easier for Captain Hook to climb. Izzy uses her Pixie Dust to hang the seaweed rope on the tower. It works, as Captain Hook makes it to the top of the tower, causing it to go back to its normal position.
When Captain Hook learns he has to kiss Queen Coralie to wake her, he refuses to help. But due to Jake and his crew tugging at his coat, as the sneaky captain attempts to leave, he stumbles backwards toward sleeping Queen Coralie, kissing her. Once awake, Queen Coralie learns that Hook released her from the sleeping spell through his kiss, and they both agree never to speak of this day again. Jake and his crew soon return to Pirate Island to place the gold doubloons they've collected in today's adventure into the Team Treasure Chest. Afterwards, Cubby sleeps.
Back on the Jolly Roger, Hook's crew are admiring his the massive pearl and are curious how the captain acquired such a treasure. Hook merely shakes off the question, grumbling that it wasn't easy. Bones offers to shine it for Hook. But the greedy captain doesn't want anything to happen to his treasure. However, as he pulls it away from his crewmen, the pearl falls overboard onto the head of Tick-Tock the Crocodile, who continues swimming further out to sea, not even noticing Captain Hook leaping into the Never Sea and chasing after him to reclaim the pearl.
