Trivia

  • A movie was announced at the 2011 Licensing International Expo in June. Which eventually transformed into this special episode.
  • There is an extended version of the Live 2 Dance soundtrack which contains the three new songs that are exclusive to "Made In Japan" and a digital-only EP called: Shake It Up: Made in Japan. Its first single from this EP was released on July 20, 2012.
  • The studio where Good Luck Charlie is filmed was transformed for this special episode.
  • The theme song for this episode/mini-movie, whose name is Made In Japan, will be performed by Bella Thorne and Zendaya. A sneak peek of the song can be heard on this page.
  • Bella and Zendaya will sing 3 new songs which will be featured in the movie. In the second promo you can hear the 3 songs they will sing. They're called "Made in Japan", "Fashion Is My Kryptonite" (the first single of the soundtrack) and "Same Heart".
  • It took ten days to film this "mini movie" in February 2012.
  • A sneak peek of this episode was shown during the premiere of the Disney Channel movie, Let It Shine.
  • Rocky and CeCe will be singing in this movie, as seen in the promo below.
  • Roshon Fegan told TWIST Magazine: "..... Well, it's in Japan [laughs] well it's not really in Japan, it's based in Japan and it was a lot of work to really make it work. It's going to be a great episode. It's a 'three-part-er' so it's going to be super long and you know, CeCe and Rocky are basically going to Japan, and they become pop stars and the whole crew is going along with them. I'm there actually searching for my Japanese love. I see some girl at the airport and that's how it goes. So it's a cool storyline and I think the coolest thing is we get to recreate a whole new world, and we brought in some great guest stars and it's just going to be one of those episodes you can't forget, mainly because it's super long [laughs]."
  • This is the third mentioning of another "Shake It Up" TV studio in The United States (first was in Meatball It Up, second was in Copy Kat It Up). However, this is the first time they mention more than one studio.
  • The girl that plays Kiyko on the iCarly episode "iGo to Japan" will be featured in this episode.
  • This is the second episode after Shake It Up, Up & Away that does not end in It Up and the second episode that is longer than 30 minutes.
  • This is the first episode that does not feature a regular opening sequence like others.
