Samson's father is a minor character in The Wild.
He is the father of Samson and the grandfather of Ryan. His only appearance in the film is in a flashback when Samson tells Ryan that he was not born in the wild but, in fact a circus (before this confession, Benny was the only one Samson told about his past). In the flashback, Samson's father is shown to have been very strict with Samson when he was a cub and one day he set him out to roar for the audience at the circus but Samson was only able to make a squeaky growl which caused the audience to laugh at him. After this Samson's ashamed father told him a wild lion could roar before allowing his son to be sent to the zoo. It is unknown what happen to him after that, He might have died of old age right before the events of the film.
- Samson's father shares similarities to Goliath I.
- Both are strict with their sons and show little compassion.
- Both are ashamed that their sons cannot achieve what they are able to.
