Sam Neill, DCNZM, OBE (born Nigel John Dermot Neill September 14, 1947) is a New Zealand actor who is best known for his role as Dr. Alan Grant in Spielberg's 1993 science fiction adventure film Jurassic Park, based on the best-selling 1990 novel from Michael Crichton, and later reprised his role in Jurassic Park III in 2001.

He played the role of Colonel Geoffrey Brydon in Disney's Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. His role as Dr. Alan Grant from Jurassic Park was spoofed by Genie in the TV series Aladdin. He also played 'Sir' Richard Martin in Bicentennial Man. He makes a cameo appearance in Thor: Ragnarok as an actor portraying Odin
