Ryan Kyle Coogler is an American film director, screenwriter and producer. His first feature film, Fruitvale Station (2013), won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for U.S. dramatic film at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. He also wrote and directed the seventh film in the Rocky film saga, Creed (2015).
Coogler co-wrote and directed the Marvel Studios films Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Coogler is also an executive producer on Ironheart and developing an untitled series set in Wakanda for Disney+ as part of an overrall deal between his company, Proximity Media, and Walt Disney Television. As part of the deal, Coogler will also develop projects under the Onyx Collective brand.
