Rodman Edward "Rod" Serling was an American screenwriter, novelist, television producer, and narrator, who was best known for his live television dramas of the 1950s and especially for creating and hosting the original version of the CBS science fiction anthology series The Twilight Zone, which ran from 1959 to 1964.

Serling was active in politics both on and off the screen and helped form television industry standards. He was known as the "angry young man" of Hollywood, clashing with television executives and sponsors over a wide range of issues including censorship, racism, and war.

His only Disney role was that of the host of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attractions at the Disney parks, where his voice was dubbed by Mark Silverman.

He was referenced in a promotional 1964 Worlds Fair teaser trailer for Tomorrowland.
