Robert "Rob" Marshall is an American director and choreographer.
Marshall's collaboration with Disney began in 1997, when he worked as a choreographer on Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella. Two years later, Marshall made his directing debut with the 1999 remake of Annie.
In 2002, Marshall directed the musical Chicago for Miramax Films. Chicago marked the first time, in 34 years, that a musical won an Academy Award for Best Picture. Marshall later returned to Disney to direct the the fourth instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean and the musical Into the Woods. He will direct the 2018 film Mary Poppins Returns.
Marshall is also the older brother of choreographer and theatre director Kathleen Marshall.
