Polar Bears:
Good morning from the Arctic Circle
We've got your weather news today
We're reporting live from our North Pole station
Overlooking Hudson Bay
You can call us your bear-ometers
'Cause we don't need thermometers
To bring you this early warning
So we can all fight global warming.
Jack:
Global warming is caused by gases. Mostly one called CO2.
Lou:
It comes from that technology that makes life so good for you.
Bob:
Oil that heats your home and power plants and industry help build a greenhouse dome.
Jack:
This dome of gas is trapping heat that used to head for space. And that heat is melting ice. Ice that used to be our base!
Polar Bears:
From up here, we can see so clearly
We see that Earth's good health is at stake
Now its wondrous creatures do depend
On the actions everyone can take
We've all got to work together
In this fight to save the weather
'Cause what's happening up where we are
Just might happen down where you are
Lou:
And now, on location with our cub reporter.
Polar Bear Cub:
Hey, whale, you never ate plankton here before.
Whale:
Well, global warming's changing currents. Now my meals are further offshore.
Polar Bear Cub:
Hey, grizzly, how come you're having dinner in trashy dumps like these?
Grizzly Bear:
Berries in the mountains are starting to run out. Those bushes don't grow near us because they're in a drought.
Polar Bear Cub:
Mr. Panda, you look all bamboozled.
Panda:
Sure, I'm all bamboozled. All I eat this bamboo.
And these leaves are very good at helping cut down CO2.
But even though earth scientists know all about that fact,
Man keeps chopping, cutting down our habitat.
Polar Bears:
We've all got to work together
In this fight to save the weather
'Cause what's happening up where we are
Just might happen down where you are
Our planet is a wondrous place
Of limitless diversity
And we've got to work to save it
From this climate change adversity
The more our air is fouled up
By this noxious gaseous overcast
The harder it'll be to find the balance
Of our planet's recent past
Lou:
If we all just shortened our hot showers by 30 seconds--
Jack:
Power plants would make less of that smoke that dirties up the air
for both you (in unison) and us bears.
Polar Bears:
We've all got to work together
In this fight to save the weather
'Cause what's happening up where we are
Just might happen down where you are
