Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon (born March 22, 1976), known professionally as Reese Witherspoon, is an American actress, producer, and entrepreneur. She is best known for her roles as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2, June Carter in Walk the Line, which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress, Cheryl Strayed in Wild, in which she received an Academy Award nomination, and Madeline Martha Mackenzie on the HBO series Big Little Lies, which she also produced. She is also well-known for voicing Susan Murphy/Ginormica, the protagonist of DreamWorks' Monsters vs. Aliens, and Rosita in the 2016 animated film Sing.

For Disney, she played Nonnie Parker in the 1993 film A Far Off Place, and Melanie Smooter in the 2002 Touchstone Pictures film Sweet Home Alabama. Witherspoon was also a celebrity guest on ABC's The Muppets episode "Walk the Swine". Additionally, she played Mrs. Whatsit in A Wrinkle in Time.
