Ray Douglas Bradbury (August 22, 1920 - June 5, 2012) was an American fantasy, science fiction, horror and mystery fiction writer who is best known for his 1953 dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451 and for the science fiction and horror stories gathered together as The Martian Chronicles and The Illustrated Man.

He wrote the 1962 novel Something Wicked This Way Comes, which was adapted into the 1983 Disney film of the same name. He also wrote The Vedlt, which the Disney Channel movie, Smart House is based on. He also helped designed Spaceship Earth.
