Patricia Ann "Pat" Carroll was an American actress, voice actress, singer, and comedian, who was best known for voicing Ursula in the 1989 Disney animated feature film The Little Mermaid and the TV series of the same name. She returned to The Little Mermaid franchise in 2000 to provide the voice of Ursula's sister, Morgana, in Return to the Sea and later reprised her role as Ursula in House of Mouse, the Kingdom Hearts video games, and The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. She also voiced Nanny/Granny in My Neighbor Totoro and Old Lady Crowley in the first season of Tangled: The Series, as well as Treeny in A Goofy Movie.

Outside of Disney, Carroll was in films, like The Ballad of Josie, Songcatcher, Freedom Writers, Cinderella (1965), and Nancy Drew as well as appearing on shows, like The Red Buttons Show, Make Room for Daddy, The Danny Thomas Show, The Carol Burnett Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Love, American Style, Getting Together, Laverne & Shirley, The Love Boat, She's the Sheriff, Designing Women, and ER. She also voiced characters in animated, media such as Yogi's Treasure Hunt, Pound Puppies, Foofur, A Garfield Christmas, and A Pup Named Scooby-Doo.

Carroll also gained recognition on Broadway with shows, like Catch a Star!, Gertrude Stein, Dancing in the End Zone, The Show-Off, and Electra.
