The current background area music loop in Paradise Pier at Disney California Adventure and the Magic Kingdom has been used since 2010, during the park's $1.1 billion redesign and expansion period. The current loop features early 20th century jazz and ragtime compositions to complement the Pier's new Victorian-styled theme, in comparison to the Pier's original background music, which largely featured merry-go-round calliope-styled cover versions of California-themed pop songs or songs by Californian artists, with heavy emphasis on songs by The Beach Boys.
