Pamela Lyndon Travers, OBE, more simply known as P.L. Travers (born Helen Lyndon Goff; August 9, 1899 - April 23, 1996), was the original author of the book, Mary Poppins. She served as a consultant on the film version of her story, but greatly disapproved many of the changes Disney made to her work. She was portrayed by Emma Thompson in the 2013 live-action film, Saving Mr. Banks.
