Owen Cunningham Wilson is an American actor, producer, and screenwriter, who is best known for his roles as Hansel McDonald in the Zoolander film series, Kevin Rawley in the Meet the Parents film trilogy, and Jedediah in the Night at the Museum film trilogy. He also voiced Coach Skip in the 2009 stop-motion adaptation of Fantastic Mr. Fox, the titular character of the 2010 live-action adaptation of Marmaduke, and Reggie the turkey in the 2013 Relativity/Reel FX animated film Free Birds.

For Disney, he most notably voiced Lightning McQueen in Disney/Pixar's Cars franchise, as well as in the games Cars, Kinect Rush: A Disney/Pixar Adventure, Cars: Fast as Lightning, and LEGO The Incredibles. He also played (alongside his brother Luke) Wilbur Wright the in the 2004 comedy adventure film Around the World in 80 Days, Oscar Choice in the 1998 Touchstone Pictures film Armageddon, Roy O'Bannon in Shanghai Noon and its 2003 sequel Shanghai Knights, and Monte Rapid in Breakfast of Champions. Additionally, he portrayed Mobius in the Marvel/Disney+ series Loki, and reprised this role in the 2023 film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the 2024 film Deadpool & Wolverine. He was also mentioned in an episode of Parker Plays, and played Herbsaint Sazerac in the 2021 Fox film The French Dispatch and Father Kent in the Haunted Mansion reboot.

  • In an early version of The Emperor's New Groove, then known as Kingdom of the Sun, Wilson was to have voiced that version's counterpart of Pacha, then a young man nearly identical to Kuzco. Following his firing, Wilson became self-conscious about his voice, though he was easily revalidated when he got the role of Lightning McQueen in Cars.
  • He was considered for the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. However, Ewan McGregor was cast in the end.[citation needed]
  • He and his brothers all have the same middle name, Cunningham (their mother's maiden name).
  • To date, he is the only member of the "Frat Pack" to voice a character in any Pixar film.
    • He is also the first "Frat Pack" member to receive an Academy Award nomination.
  • He has a habit of uttering the word "Wow!" in many of his film and television projects. He also has a tendency to whisper during tense scenes.
