"One Angry Woman" is the 10th episode of the fourth season of Pepper Ann. It aired on February 11, 2000.

Synopsis[]

Pepper Ann is forced to keep an orderly house when Lydia is called in for jury duty.

Plot[]

Lydia feels that she has a lot of things to do. Recognizing her stress, Janie suggests that she get away for a couple a days to a spa, but she refuses as she has to take care of Pepper Ann and Moose. Angered over Pepper Ann's carelessness, Lydia puts her foot down to have her do more around the house or she will decrease her allowance. The following day, Lydia gets a court summons and asks Janie to watch the kids, but she and her family are going to the spa. She is forced to call Grandma Lillian, but as soon as she leaves, Lillian leaves Pepper Ann in charge.

Pepper Ann is excited at being in control and has her and Moose dine on pizza and soda while they watch movies and play video games, all the while Lillian continues to step out and do other things. Despite leaving a mess, Pepper Ann and Moose willingly decide to not clean it up. At the courthouse, the case involves a young man who supposedly spat on an ATM camera, the penalty being a fine and community service. All the evidence points to him being guilty, but as the jurors collect the votes, Lydia votes non guilty, extending the deliberation.

Pepper Ann has a nightmare that she is accused of being a terrible housekeeper. In the morning, she becomes more responsible and cleans up everything and begins to coddle Moose to an almost disturbing degree. Meanwhile, Lydia uncovers certain facts about the case, such as how hot it was and the fact that he had been hiking, thus unable to spit. The jurors begin to listen to Lydia and even begin to change their minds one by one. At school, Pepper Ann embarrasses Moose by replacing her lunch with a much healthier option.

Lydia eventually turns everyone, including an antagonistic juror who holds some prejudice on the youth, and gets a unanimous not guilty. Pepper Ann begins to force Moose to help clean the house, making it shiny and clean. Just as they are about to come to throes, Lydia arrives, much to their relief. However, she is unaware of Pepper Ann's responsibility and once again enforces her rule over her. As the Diggetys return from the spa, they spot the defendant in a car where Janie and JoJo cannot decide if he spat or was sweating at them.
