In the universe of American Dragon: Jake Long, the magical world has been terrorized by several different threats. So much so, the Dragon Council has counted the worst of said threats and ranked them as the 13 Most Dangerous Threats to the Magical World.
So far, only seven of the top 13 have been confirmed, and they are:
The Dark Dragon (#1)
The Krylock Demon: A Snake-like demon with the claws, legs and tail of a scorpion. It lives in a hellish dimension and only ventures away from it to feed on other Magical creatures. If its venom is used in a potion, it can be used to locate anyone and anything. But if said venom is eaten, it turns the eater into a feral, Krylock-like beast.
The Huntsclan (#4)
The Krakken: A large, humanoid fish man that is used by the Huntsclan to punish their students at the Huntsclan Academy.
The Kelpie: A thinner humanoid fishman that has the ability to shapeshift into any creature they feed off of. One escaped from a Mermaid prison and was on the hunt for Jake, but he was soon subdued by both his target and Principal Derceto. Another was seen on the hunt for Rotwood, after Jake mistakenly put a bounty on him.
The Chimera: A purple, Greek monster that had the head of a lion, goat and snake and the tail of a lizard. Not much else is know about this creature, except that it was in Rotwood's memories, which means he might have actually seen one at some point.
Hobgoblin: Gray, armour-clad creatures that delight in fighting and causing trouble. However, they can be made benevolent when offered Leprechaun gold as compensation.
The other 6 threats to the magical world were never revealed in the series. The Dragon council takes these threats very seriously, so much so that they even had statues of them built as a reminder to all dragons of why they must train so hard.
- So far, only two threats have been given a rank number: The Dark Dragon (Number One) and the Huntsclan (Number Four).
- Although it was never mentioned in the series, Jeff Goode has confirmed that the Krakken, the Krylock, the Kelpie, the Chimera and the Hobgoblins all part of the 13 threats. Though their specific rank numbers were never given.
