[edit] Biography
Cyrus was born in Franklin, Tennessee, which is in the Nashville metropolitan area, and went to Heritage Middle School. She grew up on her parents' farm in the backwoods of Nashville, Tennessee|Nashville. She is the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia "Tish" Cyrus , and the granddaughter of the late Ron Cyrus and Ruth Ann Cyrus. She has two older half-brothers, Christopher and Trace, and an older half-sister, Brandi; and a younger sister, Noah Lindsey, and younger brother, Braison. She was named Destiny Hope because her parents thought that she would accomplish great things.[1] Her nickname, Miley (from "Smiley"), was started because she wouldn't stop smiling when she was a toddler.
Cyrus became interested in acting while on the set of her father's television series Doc, where she played a character named Kylie. In 2003, she played young Ruthie on Tim Burton's Big Fish and was credited as Destiny Cyrus. She was also featured in Rhonda Vincent's music video for "If Heartaches Have Wings", and appeared on Country Colgate Showdown with her father who was the host of the television program.
Cyrus was only eleven years old when she auditioned for Disney, and Disney Channel executives judged her as "too small."[2] However, they could not find another girl who could sing and act. Having the likeability of Hilary Duff and stage presence of Shania Twain, Cyrus got the part.[3] According to Disney Channel Executive Vice President Gary Marsh, Cyrus was chosen for Hannah Montana because of her energetic and lively performance and was seen as a person who "loves every minute of life."[4]
Cyrus' first guitar was a Daisy Rock Guitar - the Stardust Series Acoustic Electric Pink Sparkle, and was made a spokesperson for the company in 2004. It was given to her by her parents from her father's Country Music Television fan meet-and-greet, when she was twelve years old.[5]. A novice guitarist,[6] Cyrus is also a songwriter[7] in addition to singing and acting.
On June 22 2006, a performance of a Hannah Montana concert (featuring Cyrus as Hannah Montana) at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida was taped on the Disney Channel. Cyrus is currently opening for The Cheetah Girls for 20 dates of their 40-city tour.[8]
On October 24, 2006, Walt Disney Records released the Hannah Montana soundtrack to the Disney Channel Original Series Hannah Montana. The soundtrack will include 7 of that songs that Cyrus performed as Hannah Montana. Cyrus also signed a four-album major record deal with Hollywood Records.[7] The Hannah Montana soundtrack is part of the deal, as was the double album "Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus" which was released in the summer of 2007, released under the Hollywood Records label.
Cyrus is good friends with fellow Disney Channel actors Emily Osment and Mitchel Musso, often texting and conference calling each other during busy days.[9]
Cyrus counts Kelly Clarkson as her favorite musician, Sandra Bullock as her favorite actor, Laguna Beach as her favorite show, Steel Magnolias as her favorite movie, and Don't Die, My Love by Lurlene McDaniel as her favorite book.[6]
It was verified that Miley Cyrus and Nick Jonas was be dating together...but now he's dating Selena Gomez (anyways this haven't nothing to see here :D)
She absolutely disgusts fans of classic Disney. REAL Disney fans would like to see her obliterated from the Disney realm, as she and all her other silly Disney Channel cohorts (Jonas Brothers, Zac Effron, etc...) have desecrated the magic of Disney.
