Maurice Sendak (June 10, 1928May 8, 2012) was an American illustrator and writer of children's books.

His famous book, Where The Wild Things Are, was going to be adapted into a CGI/hand-drawn animated film but it was dropped due to being expensive. He also contributed to Mickey Mouse Movie Stories and The Disney Poster Book. Fantasia and Mickey Mouse were two of his influences to become an illustrator.
