Matthew Broderick (born March 21, 1962) is an American actor and singer who is best known for his roles as David Lightman in the 1983 cold war film WarGames, the titular character in the 1986 coming of age comedy film Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Leo Bloom in Mel BrooksTony Award-winning musical The Producers (2001-2007), alongside Nathan Lane, Colonel Robert Gould Shaw in the 1989 drama war film Glory, and as Dr. Niko "Nick" Tatopoulos in the 1998 sci-fi film Godzilla.

He is known in Disney for voicing Simba in the 1994 Disney animated film The Lion King, and its sequels The Lion King II: Simba's Pride and The Lion King 1½. He played the title character and RoboGadget in the first live action film of Inspector Gadget. He also portrayed Professor Harold Hill in the television film, The Music Man.
