Matthew Broderick is an American actor, who for Disney, voiced Simba in The Lion King and its direct-to-video sequels. He also played the titular character and RoboGadget in the 1999 live-action adaptation of Inspector Gadget and Professor Harold Hill in The Music Man. He also played a fictionalized version of himself in the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.
Broderick was born in Manhattan, New York and attended grade school at City and Country School, as well as Walden School. He currently holds the record for the youngest person to ever receive the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play, at the age of 21, for his role as Eugene Jerome in Brighton Beach Memoirs. His other stage credits include Torch Song Trilogy, Biloxi Blues, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Night Must Fall, The Producers, The Odd Couple, Nice Work If You Can Get It, It's Only a Play, Sylvia, and Plaza Suite.
Broderick began appearing in movies, such as Max Dugan Returns and WarGames before appearing in other films, including Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Glory, Godzilla (1998), Wonderful World, The Cable Guy, Ladyhawke, Good Boy!, Infinity, The Stepford Wives (2004), Deck the Halls, Manchester by the Sea, To Dust, as well as film versions of On Valentine's Day, Biloxi Blues, Torch Sony Trilogy, and The Producers. He also lent his voice to animated features, such as DreamWorks' Bee Movie as a bee character named Adam Flayman, The Tale of Despereaux as the titular mouse named Despereaux Tilling, and a 1995 reconstruction of The Thief and the Cobbler entitled Arabian Knight as Tack the Cobbler.

- He was considered to voice Buzz Lightyear, Flik, and Mike Wazowski in Pixar's Toy Story, A Bug's Life, and Monsters, Inc. (respectively), along with several other actors, before the roles were ultimately given to Tim Allen, Dave Foley, and Billy Crystal (respectively).[citation needed]
- He was also considered for the role of Chicken Little in Chicken Little, along with Michael J. Fox and David Spade. The role was eventually given to Zach Braff.[1]
