I, Marvin Acme, of sound, mind, and body, do hereby bequeath in perpetuity the property known as Toontown to those lovable characters, the toons.
Marvin Acme's will

Marvin Acme's will is a piece of paper which had Marvin Acme's will written on it with Acme Disappearing/Reappearing Ink.

History[]

It is one of the main plot elements of Who Framed Roger Rabbit because, according to Baby Herman, it is what bequeaths Toontown to the toons, and if it was not found at midnight that night, Toontown would be in the hands of Cloverleaf Industries and its owner, Judge Doom. Later, Eddie Valiant discovers the will in Acme's pocket in one of the patty-cake pictures he took earlier.

Then Roger Rabbit shows up protesting his innocence and reveals a love letter that he had written for his wife. Eddie figures that the love letter might be a clue, so he keeps it until the toons show up at the Acme Factory at the end. Roger then discovers that he had written his love letter on the will. It was written using the Acme Disappearing/Reappearing Ink mentioned earlier. It reappears and Roger reads it, revealing Acme had left Toontown to the toons, much to the toons' happiness.

Trivia[]

  • In the Nintendo Power coverage for the NES video game adaptation, the will was mistakenly referred to as being R.K. Maroon's will, even though he too was murdered by Doom.
  • In Marvel's graphic novel adaptation, due to his surname having never been mentioned, Marvin signed his will as "Marvin the Gag King".
