"Later, Multivator" is the second segment of the sixteenth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on July 10, 2015, alongside "Frozen Food".

Plot[]

In the Stellosphere's hangar, Miles helps Leo fix the Star Jetter with flash batteries and jetter cables before Miles uses the Quantumatic. Afterwards, M.E.R.C., from the inside, activates the ship's engines, which work. Leo then calls Loretta, who has just finished making Marsberry frozen yogurt, to go join them in the hangar. Loretta asks Stella if the Multivator can go any faster, and Stella says that it is going at maximum speed. Shortly afterwards, the yogurt melts, but Loretta still likes it.

Loretta then arrives at the hangar and informs Miles, Leo, and M.E.R.C. of such due to the slow Multivator. Leo has been meaning to fix it up for a while, and they still enjoy the yogurt. Miles wonders if he and M.E.R.C. should do some fix-it jobs on their own, and Leo tells him that he needs one thing. In the workshop, Leo controls a machine so that it brings a Quantumatic to Miles. Leo then tells him that he should start with little things. When a machine starts glitching, M.E.R.C. lifts Miles up there so he can fix it, and it works normally. Leo tells Miles that he should keep practicing with little things, and then he can go on to bigger things, like Leo. Just then, Phoebe informs Leo that they have arrived on Namazu, and asks him to go on the deck to get the lunar scanner ready.

However, the holo-display is malfunctioning, and Phoebe has no idea why. Miles and M.E.R.C. find out that the glitch is because of one of M.E.R.C.'s Booster Bites blocking the holo-lens. M.E.R.C. eats it, and Phoebe restarts the holo-display, which works normally now. Phoebe then tells Leo that they are ready to scan. Miles then goes to Loretta's room, but Loretta tells him that she does not need Miles and M.E.R.C. to fix anything for them when Phoebe calls her. Phoebe says that she and Leo need a different angle for their photos of Namazu, and ask her to move the ship two degrees starboard. Miles and M.E.R.C. decide to race Loretta to the bridge while Loretta takes the multivator. Miles and M.E.R.C. get to the bridge first, and Loretta believes that that is the slowest Multivator in the Tomorrowland fleet. This gives Miles and M.E.R.C. an idea: to fix the Multivator. If they can speed it up, their parents will be surprised. At that time, Loretta finishes moving the ship at a perfect angle, and Miles uses the Quantumatic to increase the Multivator's velocity controls. It seems to work when Loretta gets to her room before Miles and M.E.R.C., but the door closes, and the Multivator is speeding out of control and is unable to stop.

Miles and M.E.R.C. then ask Stella what is wrong with the Multivator, and Stella informs them that the "stop" function has been disabled. Miles tries to undo what he did, but Stella informs them that the Multivator will eject. This captures the attention of Leo and Phoebe, who says that the Multivator leaving the ship is not supposed to happen. Miles the contacts Loretta, who is now hurtling through space. Miles then shows his parents the situation and tells Leo what he tried to do. Leo finds out that Miles crossed the speed controls with the eject button, and also finds out that the Multivator has an eject button because he rigged it to be an escape pod. Just then, Stella has a lock on the Multivator's location, and the Callistos follow where it is going.

They then come across some space junk and some star sweepers, which collect anything in their path and shred it. Phoebe decides to talk to the captains, but Loretta finds out through her Bracelex that the star sweepers are on autopilot, and there is no one inside. Leo then attempts to use the grappling claw to catch the Multivator, but it is stuck. Miles and M.E.R.C. then head out of the ship, and Miles uses his Quantumatic to fix the claw. However, a piece of space junk breaks the tether connecting M.E.R.C. to the hangar, causing M.E.R.C., Miles, and the Multivator with Loretta inside to be sucked in the star sweeper. The ship then closes its doors and rockets away, also turning on its gravity. The three then see laser shredders up ahead. Thinking quick, Miles uses his Blastbuckle tether to be attached to the ceiling, and M.E.R.C. takes them over the shredders. However, heat rays which burn up space junk are ahead, and the three try to stay away from it when Leo calls Miles, and attempts to use the grappling claw to pick up the Multivator. However, the claw is stuck again, and M.E.R.C. lifts Miles to the damaged position so that Miles can fix it. The claw then grabs the Multivator from the star sweeper and places it back in the Stellosphere's hangar.

Miles then apologizes to Loretta for sending her into space, and Loretta says that that was a very fun ride and never wants to do that again. Miles concludes that he was not ready for a big fix-it job, and Leo tells him that it takes lots of practice to get good at something, and he will get there. When Miles accidentally fumbles his Quantumatic, he concludes that it may take a while.

Cast[]

Trivia[]

  • This is the second appearance of the Namazu moon, following "Rock N' Roll".
  • Moral: Always start with the basics before going to advanced stuff.

Goof[]

  • Before Miles and M.E.R.C. race Loretta to the bridge, one frame shows Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. near Loretta's room. The next frame shows them on the bridge.
