Kyla Alissa Pratt is an American actress and singer who rose to fame for her role as Penny Proud in the Disney Channel Original animated series The Proud Family.

Film and Television

In 1995, Kyla made her acting debut in the children's television series Barney and Friends as Mindy.

In 1997, Pratt's acting was extended into minor Disney roles when she made a guest appearance as Lillie in the Disney Channel Original series, Smart Guy.

In 2001, Pratt made another Disney appearance as Brooke Baker in the popular Disney Channel Original series, Lizzie McGuire.

In late 2001, Pratt finally made her mark as a Disney Channel Star when she landed the starring role as Penny Proud in the Disney Channel original animated television series, The Proud Family. Pratt later reprised her role as Penny in 2005 in The Proud Family Movie, an animated movie based on the popular television series. Pratt also made a guest appearance once again as Penny Proud in a special crossover episode of Lilo & Stitch: The Series.


Pratt's acting career has often extended into singing. She was one of the recording artists present for a pop/R&B rendition of the The Lion King's "Circle of Life " for the film's special edition release, where she performed alongside the Disney Channel Circle of Stars. She also recorded "It's All About Me" during her role as Penny Proud for the series' soundtrack. She also sang Cinderella "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" with the Disney Channel Circle of Stars.
