King Magnus of Rudistan is a character in the Disney Junior series Sofia the First. He is voiced by Carlos Alazraqui. He is the King of Rudistan. He makes his appearance in "Cedric's Apprentice" as a boastful guest at the Enchancia castle. He is impressed by Sofia and Cedric's magic trick at the end of the episode. He also appeared in "The Enchanted Feast" as a guest as well. Vivian's castle has a portrait that resembles him, so he may be Vivian's relative, perhaps an uncle, since both have green eyes. In "Baileywhoops," it's revealed he can't swim, and is the ruler of the kingdom of Rudistan. It is revealed in the same episode that he has a sorcerer named Greylock and a castle steward named Slickwell. Though a bit boastful and narcissistic, as evidenced by his gifts for Enchancia's royal jubilee being statues of himself and his claim that his own jubilee lasted a whole month, he is shown to be a good guy at heart when Sofia revealed to the kings and queens that Slickwell had given Baileywick a magically cursed pin called the Pin of Klutzenheimer to make him colossally clumsy as a plot to steal his job. King Magnus was infuriated to learn this and after Roland fired Slickwell who protested that he couldn't do that since he worked for Magnus, personally stepped forwards and fired him too, knocking him into a puddle of cider for good measure as punishment for his wicked acts.
- Interestingly, Magnus is derived from Carlus Magnus, Charlemagne's Latin name.
- Magnus is also "large" in Latin.
- There have also been kings named "Magnus" in real life.
