John Christopher "Johnny" Depp II (born June 9, 1963) is an American actor, screenwriter, director, producer, and musician who played Ed Wood in the 1990 Touchstone Pictures film of the same name, Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, J. M. Barrie in the Miramax film Finding Neverland, and Tarrant Hightopp in the Alice in Wonderland.

He will also play Tonto in the upcoming 2013 action Western film Lone Ranger.
