Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr. (December 31, 1943 - October 12, 1997), known professionally as John Denver, was an American singer-songwriter, activist and humanitarian who wrote the lyrics and music for his signature song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" in the 1994 Mickey's Fun Songs video release Campout at Walt Disney World. He appeared as a guest star on The Muppet Show in episode 401, with the Muppets in John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together and Rocky Mountain Holiday, performed "Gone Fishin' at the Grammy Awards with Floyd Pepper, appeared in the "Great Muppet Look-Alike Contest" in Muppet Magazine issue 1 with Scooter, perform a children's concert at the American embassy in Moscow with Kermit the Frog and also made a cameo appearance in The Muppets Celebrates Jim Henson.
