Jerry Livingston was an American composer, songwriter, and dance orchestra pianist, who collaborated with Mack David and Al Hoffman.

Born in Denver, Colorado, Livingston studied music at the University of Arizona where he composed his first score for a college musical. He moved to New York City in the 1930s, initially working as a pianist for dance orchestras before turning to songwriting. Popular songs he helped to co-write included "It's the Talk of the Town", "Under a Blanket of Blue", "Blue and Sentimental", "Close to You", "Mairzy Doats" (with Hoffman), "Wake the Town and Tell the People", "The Twelfth of Never", She Broke my Heart in Three Places", and "Young Emotions".

Livingston wrote songs for the film At War with the Army and theme music for television shows, like Bronco, 77 Sunset Strip, The Roaring 20's, Lawman, Hawaiian Eye, Bourbon Street Beat, Surfside 6, The Alaskans, Shirley Temple's Storybook, and the song "This is It" for The Bugs Bunny Show.

Aside from Cinderella, Livingston worked with Mack David for the Broadway shows: Molly and Bright Lights of 1944, the theme song to Casper the Friendly Ghost, and the title songs to The Hanging Tree and Cat Ballou.

He died of a heart condition at his home in Beverly Hills, California, at the age of 78.
