Hungry Hobos is an Oswald the Lucky Rabbit (series) short that was first released on May 14, 1928. It was believed lost until being rediscovered in 2011.

Summary

The film follows the misadventures of Oswald and his roughneck pal, Putrid Pete, as they ride a freight car loaded with animals and devise ways to cook a meal using the tools at hand. When a policeman chases them off the train, the duo poses as a hurdy-gurdy man and a monkey as part of their escape.

March 23, 2012. Warren Spector confirmed that the "anonymous bidder" that bought the short for $31,250. was Disney. When asked if it would appear in Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. Warren refused to comment.

Trivia

• Hungry Hobos was rediscovered in the collection of the Huntley Film Archives, in Herefordshire, England in November 2011.
• It was auctioned off on December 2011 to an anonymous bidder which Warren Spector revealed to be The Walt Disney Company.

• This short premiered exactly a day before the first preview screenings of Plane Crazy.
